Because of the efficiency and quality of the medical care in Syracuse, the hospitalization rate for residents of the Syracuse area is one of the lowest in the country.
As well as hospitals, the area has several recently built medical centers. These include the North Medical Center, North-East Medical Center, CNY Medical Center and a one day surgery center in Fayetteville that also offers a diagnositc imaging center.
Ambulance services are provided by Rural/Metro Medical Services, the parent company of the local Eastern Paramedics.
