High School
Counseling
Cazenovia High School students
are assigned counselors by grade level and by
alphabetical divisions. Counselors assist students
with their social, emotional, and educational
development.
The Counseling Office is located
in Room 110. Counselors provide information or
direct services related to:
Academic Problems, Career
Planning, College Entrance, Course Selection,
Discipline Problems, Drug Problems, Family
Problems, Graduation, Job Placement, Personal
Problems, Scholarships and Loans, Special
Programs>
In order to reach out to all
students, counselors engage in a variety of
activities: one-to-one counseling, group
counseling, parent counseling,
student/teacher/parent conferences, etc. The
counselors also coordinate academic programs such
as career options, peer counseling, and the
tutorial program. Counseling offices maintain an
"open door" policy, making themselves readily
available to students, parents, and teachers. No
problem is too trivial to be discussed; no problem
is too complex that the team cannot offer
assistance, either personally or by referral to
specialists.

Honor
Roll

(GPA)
Honor Roll -

High Honor Roll -
3.6-3.9
Highest Honor Roll -
4.0-4.3
Grades
Cazenovia High
School uses the table below for determining
grade point averages (GPAs) and rank in
class:
Grade point
average corresponding to letter grades for
students in AP courses (who take the AP exam
in May) are 0.3 units higher. For example, a
student in an AP course would receive 3.6
points for a B+ instead of 3.3. An F for
these students remains at 0 points.
When calculating the GPA,
the letter grade value is multiplied by the
units to determine the weighted grade point.
These are summed and divided by the total
units in that marking period.
